Project summary

The Lapinlahdenkatu overpass in Kamppi will undergo an extensive renovation. The surface structures, waterproofing, edge beams and railings of the overpass will be replaced. The underside of the bridge deck will be coated throughout, and the undersides of the front walls spiked and patched by casting. The Baana route running beneath the bridge will be provided with a separate protective structure to protect pedestrian and bicycle traffic.

Schedule and movement in the area

The work will begin in May 2024 and is expected to last until the end of November.

Vehicle traffic, walking, and cycling will be possible throughout the project, but due to the work areas, traffic lanes will be reduced, and pedestrians and cyclists can only use one side of the bridge.

The contractor will guide traffic with signs. Traffic arrangements are expected to change two to three times during the project, and these will be communicated separately closer to the change dates.

Project team

The client for the bridge project is the City of Helsinki, and the contractor is Kreate Oy.
